Conditions for participation in the work of standardization commissions

The standards development activities of the sector-based Standardization Bureaux (including secretariats of technical committees, etc.) are subject to financing arrangements specific to each bureau. The financial terms for participation in the work led by the sector-based standardization bureaux are public and accessible on their website and/or upon request.

AFNOR standardization commissions excluding the field of electrotechnologies

Each activity of a standardization commission (excluding the field of electrotechnologies) is managed as a collective project with the objective of seeking at least financial equilibrium taking into account the scale of the standardization programme, the level of commitment desired by the members of the commission in European or international work (e.g. monitoring or steering of European or international standardization groups) and the content of the service provided by AFNOR (e.g. remote assistance or effective participation of the AFNOR project manager in international meetings).
Priorities are selected jointly by the standardization commission members. Taking these priorities into account, financing of the services provided by AFNOR to the standardization commission members is sought from the various stakeholders in particular.

AFNOR standardization commissions in the field of electrotechnologies

Under a historical funding model, financial contributions from stakeholders complement, on a pooled basis, revenues from sales of standards and normative documents in order to achieve a balanced budget for standardization in the electrotechnologies field as a whole. This contribution is established on the basis of a sliding scale linked to the number of commission experts.
